Finis Terrae

In deze poëtische documentaire vergezelt Marzia Rumi een componiste naar Alicudi, het meest afgelegen eiland van de Eolische archipel, op zoek naar verhalen, legendes en stemmen van een gemeenschap ‘aan het einde van de wereld’. De film maakt deel uit van DocuDonna meets IFA, het samenwerkingsproject tussen het Internationale Filmfestival DocuDonna en het Internationale Filmfestival van Assen, dat tot doel heeft de zichtbaarheid van Italiaanse regisseurs in Nederland te vergroten. Deze samenwerking wordt ondersteund door het Italiaanse Cultureel Instituut in Amsterdam. De directrice van het instituut, Veronica Manson, zal samen met de artistiek leider van het DocuDonna-festival, Cristina Berlini, een korte inleiding houden.

In this poetic documentary, Marzia Rumi accompanies a composer to Alicudi, the most remote island of the Aeolian archipelago, in search of stories, legends and voices of a community “at the end of the world”. The film is part of DocuDonna meets IFA, a collaborative project between the DocuDonna International Film Festival and the Assen International Film Festival, which aims to increase the visibility of Italian directors in the Netherlands. This collaboration is supported by the Italian Cultural Institute in Amsterdam. The director of the institute, Veronica Manson, will give a short introduction together with the artistic director of the DocuDonna festival, Cristina Berlini.
