Broken English

Een gedurfde, hybride documentaire over de Britse zangeres en cultuuricoon Marianne Faithfull. De film verweeft archiefmateriaal, gesprekken en geënsceneerde elementen rond een fictieve 'Ministry of Not Forgetting', waarbij Tilda Swinton fungeert als gids door Faithfulls publieke mythe en persoonlijke geschiedenis. Broken English weigert een conventioneel eerbetoon te zijn en herkadert Faithfull niet als muse of schandaalfiguur, maar als autonome kunstenaar die zich telkens opnieuw uitvond en reductieve, vaak seksistische narratieven actief ondermijnde.
